| Horizontal Lifeline System Uses
Horizontal lifeline systems are a cost-effective means of providing fall protection and have numerous practical applications in construction and general industry. In its simplest form, a horizontal lifeline is a cable stretched between two anchorage points. |

A user, wearing a full body harness, can attach to the system and move freely along the working surface parallel to the length of the cable. Horizontal lifelines are often used in bridge construction or renovation, leading-edge work, steel erection, maintenance of bridge cranes and many more areas where users must work at an elevated edge. However, like other fall arrest systems, horizontal lifelines should only be employed when fall prevention methods have been considered and deemed infeasible. |
